For Schneider Electric Innovation Day Kuala Lumpur 2026, Unseen Matters designed and produced a custom wooden appreciation trophy. It has a logo built from precision-cut wooden layers, recipient details printed on the base, and a clear acrylic case. This article explains how it was made, why we made each choice, and what to consider if you are commissioning a custom corporate trophy in Malaysia.

What Did Schneider Electric Need From Its Innovation Day Trophy?
Schneider Electric needed a custom appreciation trophy for Innovation Day Kuala Lumpur 2026: personalised, on-brand and sturdy enough to display.
Schneider Electric wanted something more distinctive than a conventional acrylic plaque or a mass-produced trophy. It had to show the brand clearly, carry the recipient’s details, survive handling during a formal presentation, and still look good afterwards in an office or meeting room. We combined layered wood with an acrylic case to get a piece that felt warm, contemporary and professional.
How Is a Layered Wooden Logo Trophy Made?
The logo is built from multiple precision-cut wooden layers, which adds depth, exposes the wood edges and keeps the brand colour on the front.
Rather than printing the Schneider Electric logo flat, we recreated its lettering and symbol in layers and stacked them into a freestanding form. From the front, the green surface keeps the brand instantly recognisable. From the side, the exposed layer edges show how the piece was built. Light and shadow move across the raised lettering as the viewer walks around it, which a flat printed logo cannot do.
A horizontal platform and a solid rectangular base frame the logo and leave room for the appreciation message.

How Do You Personalise a Corporate Appreciation Trophy?
Print the recipient’s name, title, event and a short appreciation message directly onto the base, so the trophy is personal before presentation.
We printed the details directly onto the wooden base instead of adding a separate plaque or card, so the personalisation is part of the object. The text is arranged to stay readable without competing with the logo above it, and it uses Schneider Electric’s green to stay consistent with the brand.
Why Put a Wooden Trophy in an Acrylic Case?
A clear acrylic case protects a wooden trophy from dust and handling while keeping the layered logo and recipient details fully visible.
Because the case is transparent, nobody has to remove it to appreciate the trophy. The case also makes the piece easier to maintain on a desk or shelf for years, and it gives the display a finished, gallery-like look. Its minimal design keeps attention on the trophy itself.

How Is a Trophy Secured for Handover and Transport?
The trophy is firmly mounted to the base inside the case so that the whole unit can be carried safely and handed over as one piece.
The layered logo is fixed to the display base inside the case, which limits movement when the trophy is carried or handed over. The same structure suits a formal two-handed handover, where the presenter and recipient can both hold the case securely, and it travels more confidently afterwards.
Custom Trophy vs Standard Plaque: What Is the Difference?
A standard plaque swaps a name on a template. A custom trophy is designed around the brand, materials, and recipient from the start.
Many conventional awards use the same template with only the printed name changed. That is fine for routine recognition, but it can undersell a significant achievement. For this project, we designed the structure, proportions, materials, colours and personalisation as one piece. The combination of natural wood, dimensional branding and individual details gave it a character an off-the-shelf award cannot match.

Is a Wooden Trophy a Sustainable Corporate Award?
A trophy kept on a desk for years outlasts event merchandise, but its footprint depends on the wood and acrylic sources.
We want to be precise here. Wood is the main material, and the case is acrylic (a plastic), so we don’t claim this trophy is an environmentally neutral choice. Our argument is about longevity: a personalised piece that recipients keep and display is less likely to be discarded after an event. Precision cutting also lets us use the wood efficiently for a detailed form.
What Occasions Suit a Custom Appreciation Trophy?
A custom wooden appreciation trophy suits leadership awards, retirements, innovation awards, VIP presentations and long-service milestones.
The same approach works whenever the recognition is individual, and the organisation wants the recipient to keep something lasting: the brand becomes a dimensional form, the details are printed onto the base, and the case protects the result.
