What Gift Set Did Unseen Matters Create for ISBT Kuala Lumpur 2026?
Unseen Matters designed a 6-piece sustainable conference gift set as a sustainable corporate gift in KL for the International Society of Blood Transfusion’s ISBT Kuala Lumpur 2026 conference – a batik tote bag, a batik drawstring bag, a traditional hand fan, a steel box with mint Mentos, a heart-shaped stress ball, and a memo note pad organiser.
This project shows how an ESG corporate gift Malaysia hosts can offer an international medical audience doesn’t need to rely on a single flagship item – the strength of the set came from six distinct pieces working together across very different moments of the conference experience.
Why Did ISBT Need a Custom Gift Set for Its Kuala Lumpur Conference?
ISBT needed a sustainable conference event gift that represented Kuala Lumpur as host city while staying practical enough for a global medical audience travelling from dozens of countries.
Hosting an international medical congress carries a specific kind of pressure on gifting – attendees are travelling from dozens of countries, and the host city’s gifting often becomes their most tangible, physical memory of where the conference took place. ISBT needed a set that felt distinctly Malaysian without overwhelming a professional, science-led audience, and functional enough to genuinely support attendees through a multi-day conference rather than sitting unused in a hotel room.
Where Did the Design Inspiration Come From?
The set paired a natural canvas base with a deep green batik floral accent, giving the bags a clean, professional foundation while keeping a strong thread of Malaysian craftsmanship visible in every piece.
Rather than applying batik across an entire bag surface, our team used it as a defined accent – a lower panel on the tote and drawstring bag – so the overall look stayed neutral and conference-appropriate while still carrying a clear cultural identity. This restraint mattered for an international medical audience: the goal was recognisably Malaysian, not costume-like. The traditional hand fan took the opposite approach, leaning fully into a classic red fan silhouette as a standalone cultural keepsake rather than a subtle accent piece.
What Was Included in the ISBT Gift Set?
The gift set included a batik tote bag, a batik drawstring bag, a traditional hand fan, a steel box with mint Mentos, a heart-shaped stress ball, and a memo note pad organiser.

Batik Tote Bag
A practical event essential built in natural canvas with a distinctive batik accent panel, sized to carry conference materials, documents, and personal items comfortably across a full day of sessions.
Batik Drawstring Bag
A more compact companion to the tote, this drawstring bag offered a lighter, versatile carry option featuring the same batik heritage detailing, suited to attendees who preferred to travel light between sessions.

Traditional Hand Fan
A functional cultural keepsake designed to keep guests cool throughout the event, rendered in a classic red silhouette that doubled as a distinctive, branded conversation piece on the conference floor.
Steel Box with Mint Mentos
A reusable branded tin filled with refreshing Mentos mints, giving attendees something immediately useful during long sessions, with a tin designed to be kept and reused long after the mints were gone.

Heart-Shaped Stress Ball
A playful, practical stress reliever – a small point of levity for a professional medical audience, while keeping the ISBT branding within easy reach on any attendee’s desk.
Memo Note Pad Organiser
A compact organiser combining a memo pad with coloured page markers, giving attendees a genuinely useful note-taking tool for tracking key moments across conference sessions.A compact organiser combining a memo pad with coloured page markers, giving attendees a genuinely useful note-taking tool for tracking key moments across conference sessions.

Together, the six pieces spanned very different needs across a conference day – carrying materials, staying comfortable in the hall, taking notes during sessions, and small daily moments of practicality – giving ISBT a gifting presence that touched multiple parts of the attendee experience rather than a single item.
How Was a Six-Item Set Kept Visually Cohesive?
Keeping six distinct product types visually unified required one consistent colour and branding language – orange accents, natural tones, and the batik green – applied across every piece.
The ISBT branding and this consistent palette were applied across every item, from the steel tin to the memo pad packaging. This meant an attendee could recognise any single piece from the set on its own, while the full collection read as one coordinated gift rather than six unrelated giveaways bundled together.
How Did Unseen Matters Deliver a Six-Product Conference Set?
Production ran across all six product lines in parallel – batik sourcing and bag construction, fan assembly, tin sourcing and filling, stress ball moulding, and memo pad printing – before all six pieces were bundled and quality-checked as complete sets ahead of the conference date.
Coordinating six different product categories, each requiring a different manufacturing process and supplier relationship, meant the biggest logistical challenge wasn’t any single item but ensuring all six converged on schedule for final bundling. Quality control had to verify not just each product individually, but that every bundled set contained a consistent, complete collection before packing for delivery.
What Was the Outcome of the ISBT Gift Set Project?
Attendees at ISBT Kuala Lumpur 2026 received a gift set that supported them through multiple moments of the conference experience while leaving them with a clear impression of Kuala Lumpur as host city.
For ISBT, it meant gifting that worked as both a practical toolkit for attendees and a cultural showcase for the host city, reinforcing the international society’s choice of Kuala Lumpur as a venue worth remembering. For Unseen Matters, the project demonstrated our ability to manage a genuinely multi-category gift set at conference scale, without losing cohesion across six very different product types.
