ESSEC Business School Door Gift Set: A Sustainable Corporate Gift Case Study

What is the ESSEC Business School door gift set?

Unseen Matters made ESSEC’s door gift: a custom kraft box, a two-way carry drawstring bag and a recycled glass bottle with a jute sleeve.

We produced sets of door gifts for ESSEC Business School. Every item carries ESSEC’s logo and blue brand colour, and each was chosen so recipients would keep using it after the event. The set is [number] pieces, packed in one box that can be carried under one arm.

What was ESSEC’s brief for its welcome gift set?

ESSEC needed a premium welcome gift that felt professional, stayed practical, and gave recipients something they would keep using.

The set had to feel polished without becoming elaborate, and every component needed a job after the event. We balanced presentation with longevity: the packaging creates the first impression, while the bag and bottle provide everyday value. Delivery was due in [lead time] for [number] recipients.

Why does packaging matter in a door gift?

Packaging sets the first impression of a welcome gift. A branded band on a kraft box signals care without excess printing or waste.

We wrapped a blue paper band, carrying the white ESSEC logo, around the centre of the kraft box. We chose a removable band over printing the whole box for two reasons: the natural kraft stays visible, and a single clear design element looks more intentional than full coverage.

The box holds all items protected, which also makes it easy to stack at a registration counter or place on seats.

What is a two-way carry drawstring bag?

A two-way carry drawstring bag closes with cords and carries by sturdy fabric handles, so one bag suits events and everyday use.

Unlike a standard drawstring pouch, this bag lets recipients choose how to carry it. The upper section is natural canvas with the ESSEC logo at the centre. The lower section uses a coordinated patterned fabric, and a matching fabric ornament sits near the handle.

How do you pack a fabric bag compactly for events?

Fold the bag into a compact rectangle and secure it with a branded paper band. It saves box space and keeps each bag tidy until use.

Folding also makes unboxing part of the experience, because recipients open the bag themselves and discover the full design.

Why choose a recycled glass bottle with a jute sleeve as a door gift?

A recycled glass bottle with a jute sleeve is a reusable gift that stays in daily use, keeps the brand visible and feels premium at work.

The bottle holds [capacity] ml and has a bamboo-style lid with a carrying loop. The textured jute sleeve protects the glass, gives a better grip and carries the ESSEC logo on the front, so the brand stays visible every time the bottle is used.

How do you keep a multi-material gift set on-brand?

Use one brand colour, one logo treatment and one patterned fabric across every item, so different materials read as a single set.

Here, the blue paper bands on the box and the folded bag created the visual link, while the patterned textile on the bag and its ornament added personality. Natural tones from the kraft, canvas and jute balanced the stronger blue.

What makes a door gift sustainable?

A sustainable corporate gift is useful enough to be kept, made with more responsible materials, and packed to avoid waste after the event.

We apply three tests. First, will recipients actually use it? The bag carries event materials and daily essentials, and the bottle supports repeated use. Second, are the materials more responsible? The bottle uses recycled glass, and the reusable bag offers an alternative to a single-use carrier. Third, does the packaging earn its place? Here, the box is also the carrying case.

A label alone does not make a gift sustainable. It becomes sustainable when a useful product is well made and relevant enough to stay in someone’s routine.

Which events suit a door gift set like this?

This set suits student welcomes, executive education, conferences, onboarding and leadership events where gifts must look formal and stay useful.

The products are professional enough for formal occasions while remaining practical outside the event. The bag supports mobility, the bottle fits into daily routines and the compact box simplifies distribution for organisers. Brand colours, textile patterns, logos and presentation messages can all be customised.
