Sanofi’s First Beat of Nadi Gemilang: A Custom Welcome Gift Set by Unseen Matters

On 28 September 2026, Sanofi marked the start of the First Beat of Nadi Gemilang at The Exchange TRX. Unseen Matters designed the custom welcome gift set given to the team that day. It had a custom kraft box, a canvas travel organiser, a recycled-plastic charging cable and a double-sided welcome card, all tied together by one pulse-and-songket pattern. This article covers what we made, why we chose each item, and how the set reflects our approach to sustainable corporate gifting in Malaysia.

What Is Inside Sanofi’s First Beat of Nadi Gemilang Welcome Gift Set?

The set has a custom kraft box, a canvas travel organiser pouch, a recycled-plastic 3-in-1 charging cable and a double-sided A6 welcome card.

Each item has a clear job. The box introduces the story, the pouch and cable are for daily use, and the card welcomes recipients and guides them around the venue. All four carry the same custom pattern or Sanofi branding, so they read as one collection.

What Did Sanofi Need From Its Welcome Gift?

Sanofi needed a custom welcome gift that felt personal, signalled new beginnings, and stayed useful after the event, not standard corporate merchandise.

The gift had to express energy, connection and a fresh start, and it had to be practical enough to keep using. We treated the set as one connected story. That meant planning the pattern, packaging and presentation together with the products, rather than picking items from a catalogue and adding a logo.

How Did Songket Inspire the Nadi Gemilang Gift Pattern?

The pattern pairs a pulse line, symbolising nadi (heartbeat), with songket-inspired geometry, applied across the box band, pouch and card.

“Nadi” means pulse, so a pulse-like line runs through the artwork to represent energy and the first beat of something new. We combined it with geometry drawn from songket, Malaysia’s structured, intricate woven textile tradition. We did not copy a traditional motif. We reinterpreted its visual language into something modern. Deep purple and vibrant pink connect the artwork to Sanofi’s brand colours.

Why Use a Kraft Box for a Corporate Welcome Gift?

A kraft box gives a natural, understated base, and a printed pattern band adds the brand and story without extra decorative packaging layers.

The recipient’s experience starts before the box opens. The natural kraft contrasts with the purple band, which carries the pattern and a prominent Sanofi logo. The packaging builds anticipation without a stack of inserts or wrapping that would be thrown away.

What Is a Canvas Travel Organiser Pouch Used For?

A canvas travel organiser pouch keeps cables, power banks, cards and small accessories sorted and protected in a bag, on a desk or while travelling.

It has dedicated compartments and a natural canvas body with a vertical panel in the custom pattern. A deep purple fastening tab closes it and echoes the artwork, and the Sanofi logo finishes the design. We chose it as the main item because it fits into everyday routines such as meetings, conferences and travel, instead of becoming a one-time souvenir.

Is a Recycled Plastic Charging Cable a Good Corporate Gift?

Yes, if it is practical. A 3-in-1 cable with USB-C, Lightning and Micro-USB suits travellers and avoids carrying several cables.

The compact circular cable charges at up to 2.4A and carries the Sanofi logo. One cable covers most commonly used devices, which makes it handy for travel, conferences and mobile working. Making it from recycled plastic added a more responsible material choice without reducing its usefulness.

Why Add a Double-Sided Welcome Card to a Gift Set?

A double-sided A6 card pairs a welcome message on the front with a venue guide on the back, so it stays useful throughout the event.

The front welcomes recipients to First Beat of Nadi Gemilang with wording about new beginnings, discovery and moving forward together. The back is a venue guide for The Exchange TRX. A greeting card is usually read once and set aside, but this one helped guests find their way around the space. It has a glossy finish and uses the same pattern as the rest of the set.

What Makes a Corporate Gift Sustainable?

A sustainable corporate gift is a useful, long-lasting item made with responsible materials, so recipients keep using it after the event ends.

Sustainability is not one material or one product. For this set, we focused on use and longevity. The canvas organiser and multi-output cable keep being used after the event, the recycled plastic gave the cable a more responsible material, and the kraft box kept packaging simple. We make no claim beyond what the materials support.

For organisations looking for an ESG corporate gift in Malaysia, the lesson is that responsible gifting does not need to feel generic. It can still be distinctive, culturally meaningful and designed around a specific milestone.

What Does Story-First Corporate Gifting Look Like?

Story-first gifting builds every item, pattern and package around one idea, so the set feels connected and recipients keep it in daily use.

In this set, the pulse motif stood for shared energy and the songket-inspired geometry tied the experience to Malaysian heritage. The box made the first impression, the organiser and cable gave everyday function, and the card tied everything back to the event. Together they made a complete welcome rather than a pile of branded items. For companies planning a conference, employee welcome, milestone or brand activation, this is a model for a useful and memorable sustainable conference event gift.
