Everything you need to know about working with Unseen Matters, from sustainable materials and MOQ to pricing and delivery across Malaysia and beyond.
Who We Are
Unseen Matters (A Gift Theory Sdn Bhd) is a story-driven, sustainable corporate gifting studio based in Kuala Lumpur, founded in 2018. We create eco-friendly, customisable corporate gifts rooted in storytelling and sustainability, with 500+ projects completed for clients like Google, Meta, Petronas and Cartier.
The name carries three layers: unseen communities, unseen causes, and unseen materials. We work with overlooked artisan communities, champion causes that rarely get the spotlight, and transform overlooked materials like waste and agricultural by-products into gifts that matter.
We were founded in 2018 and have completed 500+ sustainable gifting projects across Malaysia and over 18 countries, working with multinationals, government bodies, and international summits.
We work with corporate marketing, ESG, procurement and HR teams, especially professional associations, luxury brands, government-linked corporations, hospitality groups and event management companies. Clients include Google, Meta, AWS, Petronas, Cartier, Mercedes-Benz, DHL, AON and MyCEB.
What Makes Us Different
Three things: we are story-first, not catalogue-first; we work with sustainable materials most gifting companies have never heard of, including stone paper, coffee grounds and mycelium foam, some certified by the Global Recycle Standard; and we turn your own company's waste into branded merchandise no other brand can replicate.
The narrative comes before the product. We tie every material, colour, and item choice back to your brand story. A gift without a story is just a thing, a gift with a story is something people remember.
One of the widest sustainable material libraries in Malaysian corporate gifting, spanning natural (bamboo, cork, reclaimed wood, batik fabric), recycled (ocean plastic, denim, stainless steel), and waste-derived materials (coffee grounds, wheat straw, stone paper, mycelium). Some carry Global Recycle Standard certification with measurable carbon offset data.
Yes. Several materials, including recycled ocean plastic and rPET, carry Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification. We can also provide carbon offset data and production partner information for ESG and procurement documentation.
We produce through artisan communities including single mothers, retirees and Orang Asli craftspeople, generating income and preserving heritage crafts. This supports the Social dimension of your ESG or CSR reporting.
All products are designed in-house in Kuala Lumpur, with local illustrators and artisan communities brought in for heritage or festive projects. We do not source from stock or template libraries.
What We Create
Three core services: Integrated Gifting Concept Development, Ready-to-Pick Sustainable Merchandise made from materials like stone paper and recycled ocean plastic, and Upcycling, turning your own waste materials into branded merchandise.
